LA TERRA CHE CONNETTE web series/documentary/cultural start-up
La Terra che connette is a documentary work that compares and contrasts immigrants and locals.
As we narrate their interrelations we try to bring into the open their common problems, their stories and the web of connection between the phenomena of migration, this specific territory (the Saluzzo area) and the present economic, social and cultural crisis.
A documentary on the situation of migrants and of the people who live in the territory where migrants are hosted can help us becoming aware of what they are experiencing, and can create the proper time and space to re-elaborate this awareness, beyond ideology and sterile militant positions. At the same time it’s a project proposal that, starting from a specific territorial project, can create new ideas, tools and strategies of national and international relevance.
The first outcome of this project is a web series of short documentaries that are published in our blog, and its final result will a documentary to be shown on festivals and on the television. Through the use of an empathic dynamic such as the language of cinematography, we aim at having a significant impact with our promotional campaign, for example holding workshops in schools and with the immigrant population, making use of the material we have collected in the blog. We will also create exhibitions and events that can contribute to the birth of similar initiatives other than our own. La Terra che connette is a social and cultural start up that can be reproduced in many other contexts.

WHY ARE WE ASKING FOR YOUR CONTRIBUTION
The project has been supported by all the social actors of the territory (see partners page), but we are looking for further resources to continue with the web series and start the documentary production that is scheduled for 2014.
With this campaign we are asking you to give us a hand so that we can give continuity to our work and reach high quality results.
You can follow how our budget situation develops.
By funding our project you are not only contributing to a documentary production, but you are also helping an active research process that will create a tool that can lead to real change.
Thanks for trusting us!
